If I lived in CA, this would be my license plate. HPYNSUN = Happy in Sun
It could also be HPYNWTR. Too bad Utah only has 6 letters instead of 7.
Growing up in sunny California was great! I live to be in the sun, which I know isn't the best thing always, especially when sometimes I refused to wear sunscreen. I loved the summertime playing at the beach. I loved the days where it was overcast in the AM and by 2pm it would burn off and be nice and hot.
I was a lifeguard for about 5 years or so at the Mission Viejo Rec. Center and it was a fun job.
Why? Because I got to hang out in my swimsuit and be warm in the sun.
When it was break, I jumped into the pool to cool down and then let the sun dry me off:)
I miss the sun. Today might be nice if that darn wind wasn't blowing around. I need Spring/Summer/Warmer weather to be here NOW!!!!
It is great for me mentally too. I get motivated to get out and be active, which I need.
Hooray for Summer!
Please come quickly.

How We Met.......
Alright, this is kind of a fun "pass it on" post. Everyone who reads this and feels inclined to participate, please do so. Write how you and your hubby met(if you are married).
In or around the year 1997, I met Jake over the phone. I called his apartment for my friend Chuck. Chuck and I were really good friends because I had dated one of his best friends (not Jake) and when we broke up, I was still in touch with all of his friends because they had become my friends too.
Jake answered the phone and I said, "Oh, so you're the new guy?" I preceded to
ask his name and where he was from, etc.... Jake moved into the apartment that my previous boyfriend had lived in, same bedroom, same bed........you get it!
A couple of weeks later, Chuck came over to hang out at my place and brought Jake. I don't remember thinking much except that we had same music taste and he was really cool. I think I was dating someone at this point(not seriously) and he was dating an older woman. hahahaha. He loves it when i say that.
Anyway, I don't remember the time frame at all, but a while later Jake called and invited me to come over and watch some sporting event with a group of people. I accepted and we chat a little. After the game, we decided to go rollerblading and hit it off. We laughed so hard when together, we couldn't stop hanging out. We were best friends. We had not kissed yet. We hung out almost everyday for over a month. I would go home to my roommates and have the whole "I think I like him, I don't know if he likes me" conversation. Blah Blah Blah.
We were hanging out in my room and it was 3AM. I thought to myself "he HAS to like me if he is still around at 3AM". I planted a kiss and he kissed back. He said,"I'm so glad you did that because I have liked you since day 1".
I wouldn't have it any other way! We got along soooo well.
I invited him to come to California to meet the family after a couple of months and the day we left he had chopped his hair. I mean MTC haircut!
I freaked out a little. It was different than what he had before and for some reason I was shallow and I didn't feel the same feelings towards him. Suddenly, things changed in my head. I thought, "oh my gosh, I can't date a Provo boy!" I have to have a husband that surf's and is from California like me. Haha. I know, I'm super lame!
I was cold to him the whole trip and when we got back I broke things off.
(sounds like Jr. High, huh?)
Well, I called him two days later and he was out on a date with another girl!
I freaked out and called the next morning and we were back together! All I needed was a little jealousy I guess. Thanks Lana! (girl he went out with and did NOT kiss, thank heavens)
He proposed, I said YES, we married in the LA Temple in June 1998, had 3 awesome children and are still living the good life. He is the best! I'm so blessed to have him in my life.
That is our "How we met" story.

Fix It Friday!
Every Friday, I Heart Faces blog, has a Fix-It Friday.
They provide a picture to fix and we fix it:
Here is before:
Here is my after:
I used Adobe Elements 6:
I just dodged the face a little and underneath the eyes, sharpened the eyes a touch, and spot healed in between his eyes where there was redness.
I also turned it to black and white then moved the opacity back a little for a vintage look. I think his skin looks better this way.
Last, I cropped out the unimportant stuff and showed the best part, his little face:)

Do you want to smile?
Watch this video. I couldn't stop staring and smiling. It is the coolest video I've seen...really.
I like the song too. I've never heard of the guy, but love it. There are so many creative people out there.

Field Trip
So, I'm taking a photography class at night at the high school near by. The teacher has started some "club" and I joined. They do field trips every so often and Saturday was a trip to Farmington Bay. Everyone showed up around 8am for this annual event. I don't know what the event is called but fish are poisoned and then float to the surface of the water. The bald eagles come to eat them. We saw many sitting on the ice on top of the water waiting. It was a fun experience! Cold, but fun:) I don't have a super long lens, so these are the best I could get with my camera and then I zoomed in a little in Photoshop. The picture's are a little blury because of this. They are big birds!
Eagle landing.
Love this one with it's reflection in the water.
The lone eagle.

I'm so lucky....
....or blessed to have my little girl. I love my boys too, don't worry, but I can't explain what it is about having a little girl. She is so sweet, and grumpy, and funny at the same time. I love her.
I absolutely love these picture's of her. I seem to always get the best one's of her at the most random times when I don't expect it.
Isn't she pretty?!
We were just out playing in the snow in this one.
She and I were hanging out in my room in this picture. She just happened to lay right next to my window and I had my camera in reach:) Thank goodness!

Why?
Why do I have days where I think I might go nuts?
That dumb commercial, "Calgon, take me away....." is playing through my mind.
My kids are happy right now, they are just really loud. Somehow, we will be trying to shut them up so we can do the whole family night thing. It usually turns into Jake and I getting frustrated with whoever isn't paying attention. (all 3 of them)
I think we need to get away........without the kids.
Tonight at dinner I was trying to tell Jake something. I tried three times but one of the kids would start talking really loud each time. Jake again said "what?" and I paused then yelled, "I'll tell you in 60 years!"
I know I will be sad when the kids are out of the house, but right this moment, I need a friggin' break for about a month.
SERENITY NOW!!!!
